As an independent writer/publisher, like other small
businesses, the pull to have a presence on the ever-growing plethora of social
media platforms is a constant nag!
I’ve never really felt any inclination to Facebook nor had
the desire to tweet. Of course, I’ve had a nosey at other people’s offerings
occasionally, but never been tempted to join in.
Goodreads was always different; a social site for readers
and writers – it had to be done.
But even so, it took me a lot longer to get on with it than
I care to admit!
And now finally, I have my author profile on Goodreads – and
I love it!
The site is intuitive, easy to navigate and update, and the
little support I’ve needed was given super speedily and was delightfully friendly.
I’ve discovered new authors, added dozens of books to my ‘To
Read’ shelf and am looking forward to joining a selection of reading and
writing groups.
I'm still not tempted to become a Facebookee or a Twitterer, although
Instagram looks fun…..
